Long Time No See

I haven't done a moombahton post in so long. 

So here are some Gems you probably haven't heard.

First off lets start with KayJay. Just today I was wondering what he was up to since he hadn't released anything in a while. Boom he releases a Moombahsoul EP. He keeps it constant with very chill Moombahsoul songs. It honestly one of the better EP's I've listened to so take some time and listen through  "Bad Love Songs" trust me this is some great Mooombahsoul music. I imagine that some of leaders of this genre will gain some serious respect for KayJay production after hearing this.

Following that EP is hard but I think I got the perfect song to do it. Torro Torro released a song called "Country Club" Its straight Moombahton gold. The Moombahton hits so hard when it drops just take a listen. The sounds coming out of that mans computer should be illegal. Its that good.

This Guy Will Bailey is new to me. I was searching through my sound cloud when his track "Lizard" popped up. I gave it a listen and became a fan. Its a very busy and all over the place but literally is a perfect song to put in fun moombahton sets.

I found this song awhile back via mad decent. When I saw it was a Soulja Boy song, I was a little bit skeptical especially since I hadn't heard of Jay Fay. Let me tell you this remix redefines a moombahton drop. His use of the snares at the drop has my head jammin out in all different ways.

This is an interesting remix of Physics by Equinox. EklekTec does however do a good job  of changing the style to make it his own and its worth a serious listen. The drop is very progressive though but when it does drop its fun and will make you jump about.

Massive (Squeeze Edition/ Recovery)

Holy Hell, Idenity Festival in Bristow Virginia was crazy. Unfortunately, because I attended the craziness, I had to miss out on Moombahton Massive at Uhall. This post is dedicated to some brand spanking new moombahton. Oh and im going to add in a little dubstep at the end.

First up, is a track by one of the founding fathers of moombahton. I'm talking about Sabo. Sabo is based out of LA and has been making Moombahton for a while. He's established himself in the Genreand has played venues in DC numerous times. In this remix, he takes the classic latino song "Cuban Queen" and adds his own flair to it.

This song features the talents of the Nadastrom and Sabo. For those of you that don't know, Nadastrom is composed of two people. Grammy Nominated "Matt Nordstrom" and Moombahton Creator "Dave Nada". This song is a complete change of pace from most of the Moombahton I post on here. This song "Far Nearer" features a really incredible use of steel drums. Being from the island of Trinidad, I have a huge soft spot in my heart for any use of that instrument. So here it is Nadastrom and Sabo's Edit of "Far Nearer".

Following the trend of really chill and soft Moombahton, I want you to pay very close attention to a producer called Jon Kwest, who is slowly establishing himself on the moombahton scene. "Cubia" is an easy listen and has a beat that will keep you pressing the repeat button for days to come.

Sazon Booya, a phenomenal moombahton Producer out of NYC, returns to the attention of the electric squeeze with "EL Gato Volader". This moombahton jam goes everywhere, play this with loud speakers and you will not be disappointed by the extreme rifts and the mellow beat.

This next remix was just released by Torro Torro. It remixes the already massive moombahton hit "Que Que" by Diplo and Dillon Francis. Massive track. Fuego

Lastly, I'm going to leave you with a dubstep goodie. The original song "Killer" was produced by Disco Fries fries featuring the pop superstar Clinton Parks. This track was re-done by Qbik and Xsessiv, and turned into a phenomenal dubstep production.

Summertime Grooves

Washington, D.C. is currently undergoing one of the hottest weekends in recent memory.  Yesterday, as I was driving around, the music, blistering heat, and wind in my hair combined in a manner which led to a state of relaxation I had not felt in a long time.  The combination of music and summer is irreplaceable.  It doesn't matter whether it's pool side, a live performance, or just chilling in your whip, it just adds a certain ebb and flow to your already sunny day. These are some jams that will hopefully notch a place in your list of favorite summer tunes.

I was a little surprised we had not posted this Calvin Harris hit yet.  Very much from the mold of other Calvin Harris tracks, it maintains instrumental roots but yet is very danceable.  It has already been remixed several times by big names such as Benny Benassi and Nero but the original remains my favorite.

Here we have another track which has been blowing up the blogosphere.  It's slightly different than the tracks we tend to post but it definitely earns its place.  Think Passion Pit meets Aeroplane, there's a lot to like here but I'll let you judge it for yourself.

M83 Midnight City

Torro Torro has been making quite a name for themselves this year.  Their tracks have been getting plays by countless big names and this remix certainly doesn't disappoint.  The group that some are starting to consider the next big name in electronic dance music presents you with this rework of Jeremy Glenn's New Life.

The best way I can describe this next track is 'funky vibes'.

Bibio Light Sleep (Tigorilla Remix)

I recently discovered a new Aeroplane remix.  It is very much the Vito De Luca brand of music.  Relaxing, laid back, disco house to flavor your day.  I'm not a big fan of the siren sounds but overall it is ideal summer music.

I'm going to finish off with a track I heard on the Martin Solveig Essential Mix, which I have already given my highest praise.  It is much more high energy and obviously belongs on a dance floor ahead of the other tracks I have posted but I also understand that chill 80's influenced grooves can get boring if they're not mixed in with some high powered bombs.
